5 MINUTES WITH GRAEME BROWN

Graeme Brown, or Gee Bee Images as you might know him better, is one of the most recognised motorsport photographers in the industry, travelling the globe for World Superbike and MotoGP.  As the official snapper for Kawasaki Motors Europe, he is responsible for the stunning images used by the World Superbike team…
“I’ve been working in the World Superbike paddock for sixteen years now, joining Kawasaki in 2006 as their official photographer for the MotoGP team. That was an incredible experience and then in 2007 they asked me to cover World Superbike, which I’ve been doing ever since!

The life of a photographer might be unknown for most but a typical race weekend sees me arrive on a Thursday where I find a suitable desk in the press office before liaising with the team for any specific photography requests they might have. I then head over to the press conference and shoot that.

For all three days of track action, I arrive at the circuit for 8am and then cover every class for Kawasaki – WSB, Supersport, Superstock 1000 and Superstock 600. I try to get different shots around the circuit, but it can depend on conditions and lighting as to where the best shots for that day will be found. At the end of each day I deliver a small selection to KRT for a daily press release and social media content.

I don’t have a favourite circuit as such, as each one provides a unique challenge. However some of the older circuits with the antiquated facilities are among my least favourite, as are those where it’s really difficult to get access around the track.

I love being a motorsport photographer, and have countless memories of racing and the success various teams have had but my favourite are those away from the track, getting to share good times with friends and colleagues in different cities around the world! 2015 is shaping up to be an incredible year for the team, Jonathan arriving in the team and being so dominant, coupled with Tom’s resurgence towards the latter part has been amazing!”
