7 Augusti 2018 World Versys adventurer visits KME office

Stephen Langitan set out from Jakarta, Indonesia on his Versys-X 250 in early March with the aim of riding all the way to London in time to celebrate Indonesian independence day. As a part of the last few days of his successful overland endeavour he called in at Kawasaki’s European head office located in Hoofddorp close to Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport on the 3rd of August.
Almost identical to the Versys-X 300 sold across Europe, Stephens’s 250cc machine was only lightly modified in preparation for his epic 30,000km journey and performed faultlessly throughout.

Ensuring that the popular “any roads” Versys continued to perform at its best, the KME workshop gave Stephen’s bike a quick inspection and found only one lightbulb needed attention and, while they had the machine on the work bench, changed the oil and filter to make sure his steed was fully equipped for the short journey to the UK where members of his family would meet him at journey’s end.

‘I wanted to do this journey to show the people in Indonesia how to be independent”, said Stephen.
“You don’t have to go through the struggle of everyday life. You need to make the best out of your life and challenge yourself every day.”

Reflecting the go-anywhere, do anything personality of the Versys-X, Stephen added, “Don’t get stuck in the sometimes boring routine but live your life to the fullest! Enjoy every day and challenge yourself in order to grow. Make your life worthwhile.” – a noble sentiment.

Kawasaki wishes Stephen well and applauds his tenacity to ride entirely on his own across diverse countries and cultures and successfully complete his mission to promote self-will and celebrate the positive feelings associated with independence.
